With 13 days till we depart for Palau, our classroom has become a war zone.
The Palau Team is beginning their prep, starting with some ROV changes.
At the start of the year we had a much larger electronics housing and 8 thrusters. We thought this would give us more power against the currents, but between trying to get neutral buoyancy and all 8 thrusters working, we slowly found out that this was not the way to go.

With this new found information we have decide to make our ROV smaller hoping that the smaller size will reduce he amount of resistance while in the water.
Maddy and Skeeter have tackled the task of putting the electronics housing back together, and re-designing the ROV frame.

Maddy and Skeeter re-assembling the electronics housing This year we also have decided to build a spare electronics housing to bring with us to Palau. |

Here Luke is testing drill bit sizes for the end cap of the second electronics housing.
While the Engineering Team was preparing the ROV the Marketing team was preparing..well pretty much everything else.
Chloe and Emma took on the job of preparing our Standard Operating Procedure binder.
This included printing out A LOT of check lists and packing lists.
We estimated that we printed around 300 copies

Chloe printing out even more copies
Chloe also started to pack for our pool day on Monday, hopefully we don't have a snow day.
Between building a new electronics housing and printing over 300 copies I feel we have had a very productive day.
