We started our day at 2:45 am in Michigan and it is just now ending at 11:53 pm in Palau.
We got through security pretty much unscathed in Michigan, the only problems were the weight of our tether box and mineral oil. But turns out both were going to be fine.
Once we arrived in Houston we only had a little over 35 minutes to get to our next terminal. We ended up getting delayed for around 45 minutes because of luggage issues, we think it was all our fault for having over twenty suitcases and footlockers for just our team. Oops!
Our 8 hour flight had a little turbulence, but other than that it was un-eventful.
After a quick plane change we boarded our 7 hour flight to Guam.
Most of us slept on this flight, the jet lag was defiently getting to us.
Lastly we got on a 2 hour flight to Palau. Where again most of us slept.
Then we finally made it to Palau. We slowly got through customs and were off to the hotel, but of course we had to do a milkshake stop.
Finally we arrived at our hotel. We then unpacked and are now assembling the ROV and video monitoring box.
Its now 12pm Palau time.
Its safe to say we will all sleep well tonight.

Thank you for what you are doing. It is great that you are all willing to travel so far to help out. Do you have any videos of your robotics in action? Thanks again. As a Marine veteran it means a lot that some people care enough to make sure that these families get closure. No one left behind! Bring them home. Be safe in Palou!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh. The infamous Milkshake. Can't wait to finally have mine in hand...soon. And I hope the jet lag is overridden by the beauty and warmth of Palau as well as the reception by the BentProp folks! See you soon...Jo
